Cesar Millans Online Coaching Course

If you want to train your dog in the basics of obedience, then we recommend our little ebook on canineelement called "The Great Fido Kit"- In case you haven't noticed, we are having our half price sale and you can pick it up for $19.95! That's a deal!

But even though I've had dogs all of my life, and we mastered the basics of obedience, I personally have not always been able to master the art of being a good "pack leader". Not until I was fortunate enough to come across Cesar Millan - The Dog Whisperer.
If you watch TV at all or ever visit a book store, then I'm sure you've probably seen him or at least heard about him. Cesar takes a different approach to training - actually he calls it rehabilitating unbalanced dogs and training the owners to see the world through their dog's eyes. I find him and his way with canines totally amazing.
He's just launched his new website: http://www.cesarmillaninc.com
and I was delighted to see he is offering an interactive 6 month online coaching course for only $129.95. Bailey says check it out!

Happy Birthday Leo Dogs (July 24- August 23)

Zodiac Dogs Astrology for Our Canine Friends by Helen Hope.

Here are the general characteristics and aspects of a Leo dog as noted in this Dog Astrology book.

"The Leo dog is ruled by the sun, the creative life force of our solar system and in many cultures worshiped as the god of live and love. This star dog usually has both live and love in abundance. Your pooch nearly always promptly responds when you call because it figures there's going to be a good time one way or another."

Is your dog a Leo? To learn more about your Leo dog, like their favorite day or their favorite celebrity dog you have to get the book..

Bailey's Shopping for Collars

The beautiful Amour Amour collar, designed by I Love Dogs Diamonds in 2007 carries a hefty price tag of $1,800,000.00 US dollars. I suppose the 7 carat brilliant cut center diamond as well as the other 100 carats of diamonds and jewels justifies that price.
Since Sheba likes to nibble on Bailey's collar, we've decided we'll skip the jewels and continue our comparison collar shopping at http://dogstuff.zlio.com/

Do You Own Stock in the Drug Companies?

Do you or any of your friends and family members own stock in the drug companies such as Abbott Laboratories, Barr Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Baxter International, Inc., or Genetech, Inc.?
If so, then
the Physicians Committee of Responsible Medicine (PCRM) needs your help.

As stated on their last email:
"The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is working on a campaign to require pharmaceutical companies to implement meaningful written policies designed to accelerate implementation of the 3 Rs: refinement, reduction, and replacement of animal testing. We are in the process of filing a number of shareholder resolutions requesting that such policies be adopted and enforced. We are in need of persons owning stock in the above listed pharmaceutical companies to support these resolutions. These resolutions are an important step in our campaign to bring an end to outdated, unscientific, and cruel animal testing. Our deadline for filing this resolution will soon be approaching, so we need to hear from you as soon as possible.

We need one or more stockholders for each one of the companies. The stock must be worth at least $2,000 and have been held at least since November 2007. The stock can be held in your own name, or by your broker, but it cannot be owned through a mutual fund. If you or someone you know fits into this category and is interested in helping, please contact PCRM Attorney Katherine Lin at klin@pcrm.org or 202.686.2210, ext. 350. Again, time is short so if you would like to help, please act now."

Please Help Canine Element and PCRM End Animal Testing!

"Greatest American Dog" airs on CBS

If you missed the new reality TV show on Thursday evening, an encore performance will be airing on Saturday, July 12th at 8:00 PM (Eastern time) on CBS.
Twelve talented dogs and their human companions move into the luxurious Canine Academy and prepare to duke it out for a chance to be named the "Greatest American Dog."
So now we can look forward to weeks of stiff competitive games for the dogs and their owners. As with any reality show, each week someone gets booted off the show and the tears seem to flow.

I watched the show with great anticipation and as far as I'm concerned - skip the competitions and give them all a prize!

Book Review: The Dog Owner's Maintenance Log

I would highly recommend buying "The Dog Owner's Maintenance Log" for each and every one of your dog companions. This comprehensive spiral bound log provides a tool for you to document all the things you really "should" keep track of about your dog. You can easily record medication, vaccinations, vet visits, and much more.

BUT, not only do you need to buy it, you need to keep it up-to-date. These efforts will be sure to help you when you move, if there is an emergency situation, or a natural disaster. You will know right where all your information is located so you can grab it and go.
